Learn Civic Leadership from a Pacific worldview.

The Challenge

Where are our civic leaders?

Pasifika people are the future of Aotearoa NZ. By 2038, Pasifika people will make up 10% of this country’s population. In our largest city, Tamaki Makaurau Auckland, the number is already 18.7% and set to grow.

But where are our civic leaders?

Why are our local boards, council wards and electorates not led by Pacific people - yet?

PaCIVICa is a politically neutral course for those who want to step up and represent our people in civic leadership. It’s two hours a week for six weeks, in person, and creates a safe learning space for those who are ready to commit.

What They Said

"You have to join!

PaCIVICa is a space for Pasifika to share, connect and build as a collective to help our people see themselves as leaders"

Zeo Haami

"This is the impact of PaCIVICa:

Knowing there are other Pasifika people who are willing to learn more about civics and governance so we can influence others to develop their knowledge & encourage our people to vote!"

Elaine Seuao

"It's a rare opportunity

that many people taking up leadership roles come across."

Pouli Manū Taialofa Naseri

"It really clicked for me when

I could share what I've learnt to support others. Leaders beget leaders!"

Sheralynn Tonu'u

"I was impacted by the amazing knowledge

...of my PaCIVICa village, sharing, caring & teaching me how to navigate. Appreciate my Samoan language & heritage."

Elisaia Tagaloa

"Empowered, uplifted, inspired

I love that I feel like part of something bigger here. So grateful for all the knowledge and insight and experience that everyone has lovingly shared with me."
